Henderson Rotary was pleased to be able to assist the organisers of the Auckland Brick Show (NZ’s largest Lego Display) by running the parking at The Trusts Arena in Henderson over Labour Weekend 2016.
This was the first time that the Lego Show has been run at this venue and the larger venue allowed for a lot more exhibitors and a lot more attendees.
Henderson Rotary volunteers assisted members of the public in finding a parking space and kept the traffic flowing so that visitors could park quickly and get into the show for their allocated timeslot. There were club members and their partners, members of our Rotalite West and South Kaipara satellite clubs and students from Waitakere College and Henderson High helping.
We also operated a Gold Coin donation at the event and were pleased to be able to raise over $6000 during the weekend which will go towards our support of Hospice West Auckland and other charitable causes.
Club organiser Dave Cocks did a fantastic job of organising this fundraising exercise, sorting out the schedules and liaising with the Lego organisers.
