Henderson Rotary’s members like to get their hands dirty – we regularly undertake hands on community projects around the West Auckland area. Over the last few months we’ve been revamping the outside areas of some local community organisations.
In July, in partnership with our friends at New Lynn Rotary we visited the premises of Mt Tabor Trust to give it a major tidy-up. At Mt Tabor, people with intellectual disabilities and those who assist them, live together and are equally responsible for the life of their home and community.
The project included laying new metal on a pathway alongside and behind their house, demolishing and rebuilding a section of fence, pruning and removing overgrown trees and weeds, waterblasting the building and repainting their activity room.
